Pain Management

Pain is a complex protective mechanism and is an unpleasant sensation that can range from mild, localized discomfort to agony. Pain management is a super-specialty of medical science that deals with the alleviation of pain using minimally invasive interventions. Our centre has advanced facilities of interventional pain management, performed by well-trained interventional radiologists, under imaging guidance including high-resolution ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT scan and others.

We evaluate the type of pain, try to find out the exact cause of pain and then perform minimally invasive interventions for pain management. Interventional pain management include minimally invasive procedures to decrease pain. These procedures range from simple injections to complex interventions using radiofrequency or laser antennas to block the pain without harming any nearby structures. This can stop the pain without taking pain killer drugs.

The overall success rate of these procedures is between 85-100%. It depends on the type of pain, site of pain, procedure performed, the experience of the interventional radiologist and the machines used for the procedures. But the most important part of these interventions pain is that they are very safe and complications are very rare, compared to the surgeries performed for the same diseases.
